46er - A Journey of 1 Million Steps
Time to Complete: 2.5 Years | Distance: 327.16 Miles | Elevation Gain: 83,359' | Steps: 1,043,505
Welcome to my virtual trail journal!
Walk a few miles in my boots and wander through the beautiful landscapes of the Adirondack Mountains. While you're exploring, imagine all of the things you might hear, smell, and feel in these places... oh and the sore muscles too, don't forget about those!
Some notes on my journal...
I've organized the photos by hike and clicking one of the images below will lead you to a page detailing that hike with a collection of other photos from that day. Click on images on the hike pages to view them in full-screen. These mountains are what inspired me to take up photography, so I didn't start carrying a quality camera until my 16th peak, hikes prior to that are not included here. Feeling inspired by these images? I am happy to produce prints to help spread appreciation of our beautiful planet.
Beyond the High Peaks
There are many equally exciting Adirondack adventures to be had outside of the High Peaks region! Click here to see some of my favorite sites I experienced on days that I did not check a High Peak off my list. Some of these hikes were failed attempts at reaching summits but still excellent hikes, others were hikes outside of the High Peaks region entirely. Regardless, it's not always about checking peaks off a list!
Enjoy your time in the Adirondack Park!
"Climbing these peaks is not just about reaching the summit; it's about the journey,
the challenge, and the deep connection to the mountains."
- Herbert Malec, First known ADK 46er
